Pay-on-Exit : available at select locations in the UK

Enjoy the Convenience of Pay-on-Exit with PayByPhone

At select locations across the UK, PayByPhone offers the flexibility to pay for parking at the end of your session with our 'Pay-on-Exit' feature. If you leave earlier than planned, you can adjust your stay and only pay for the time you've used.

Most PayByPhone locations require you to pay when you arrive. Pay-on-Exit is only available where signs at the parking location specifically confirm that it is supported.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Pay-on-Exit is not available at PayByPhone locations in North America.

Review important Pay-on-Exit information

  • Eligibility: Pay-on-Exit is available to customers who have already used PayByPhone. This feature is not available if you pay at the machine and then try to end your session using the app.
  • Minimum charge: If you park for less than 15 minutes and there is no charge, the app will display a 'Payment not Required' message. Adjustments cannot result in a £0 charge.
  • Session tracking: Multiple sessions on the same day will be grouped as one entry in your parking history. Sessions made within 30 minutes of each other will appear as a single entry, while those made after 30 minutes will be logged separately.
  • Exiting: To avoid extra charges, leave the car park within a few minutes of seeing the 'Payment Completed' notification.
  • Hardware issues: For problems with exit barriers or pay stations, contact the parking operator directly. A call button will be available at the parking location. Proof of payment will be sent after your Pay-on-Exit transaction has been successfully processed.

Use Pay-on-Exit

  1. Sign in to or register for a PayByPhone account.
  2. The parking operator's on-site camera will read your licence plate and log your entry.
  3. If you have stayed longer than 15 minutes and are ready to leave, open the PayByPhone app, select your location, choose your vehicle, and select 'Pay & Go'. The charge will reflect the duration of your stay.
  4. Drive up to the exit barrier. The system will confirm your payment and allow you to exit if you are within your allotted time.

Need more time? Select 'PAY FOR ADDITIONAL TIME' to purchase up to 30 extra minutes.
