Check if your parking session has started
Once your parking session is successfully purchased, PayByPhone will confirm it in several ways depending on how you paid.
You can check for visual, email, SMS* or audio confirmation to make sure your parking time has started. Note: to enable SMS or email receipts, please visit your Account settings.

Check on the Mobile Web, iOS, or Android app
If you are using the Mobile Web, iOS, or Android app, the system will confirm when your payment has been processed.
Look for the confirmation screen
After payment is processed, look for the 'Payment confirmed!' screen.

Review your remaining time
Once your parking session starts, you should be able to view the remaining time in the app.
Restart the app if needed
If you missed the confirmation screen, restart the app to check whether the parking session is active.
A successful parking session will show:
- A countdown clock
- An Extend button, if that option is available
Check on the IVR phone system
If you paid using the IVR automated phone service, the system will confirm your parking session has started.
Review your notification settings
Make sure your notification settings are set up the way you want. This will help you receive confirmation messages correctly.

Check other confirmation methods
Check your email receipt
If you have opted in to email receipts, you should receive an email receipt.
If you do not see it:
- If you have enabled email receipts and still have not received one, check your spam folder and ensure that verification@mail.paybyphone.com is not blocked. You may also need to check with your email provider or server.
- If you signed up through IVR, you may not have been prompted to enable email notifications.
Check your SMS receipt
You can opt in for SMS receipts. Charges may apply.
Check your online banking
If available, you can also review your online banking to confirm the transaction.

How do I know if my parking session started?
You can check for a 'Payment confirmed!' screen, a countdown clock in the app, an email receipt, an SMS receipt, an IVR audio confirmation, or a completed transaction in your online banking.
What should I do if I missed the confirmation screen?
Restart the app and look for an active parking session. If your session started successfully, you should see a countdown clock and, where available, an 'Extend' button.
What if I do not receive an email receipt?
Check your spam folder and make sure PayByPhone emails are not blocked. If you registered through IVR, you may need to review your notification settings first within the app.
