Fix iOS and Android app issues
If you’re having trouble using the PayByPhone app, follow the steps below to identify the issue and get back to parking quickly.
These troubleshooting steps apply to both iOS and Android devices.

The app is not working properly
If the app is frozen, loading incorrectly, or not responding, try these steps:
- Exit and restart the app. A countdown clock will appear if the payment has processed.
- Log out of your account and log back in.
- Clear the app data or cache, if available on your device.
- Restart your device.
- Delete and reinstall the app.
Make sure you are using the latest version of the PayByPhone app. We release optional and forced updates with bug fixes periodically.
I cannot start a parking session.
If the app opens but you are unable to complete your parking session, try the troubleshooting steps below first:
- Check your payment details.
- Try a different card.
- Try a different platform such as the mobile app or the automated phone line (IVR).

Check device and compatibility issues
There is a minimum operating system required to support the PayByPhone app.
- Minimum supported iOS version: iOS 16.0
- Minimum supported Android version: Android 9.0
Unsupported browsers include Internet Explorer and Safari version 13 and below.
If your operating system or browser is below the minimum supported version, some features may not work correctly.
Try another way to purchase parking
If the app is not working, you may still be able to park using another PayByPhone option:
- Launch paybyphone.com from another device
- Dial into our IVR
- Make alternate arrangements such as paying at the meter
Contacting support
If you need to report a technical issue, please include the following:
- A screenshot of the error message, if available
- The date and time of the incident
- Your phone number and email address
- A description of the problem, such as unable to register or problems finding a location
Important: Please ensure that your parking has been validated to avoid a citation.
