At PayByPhone we are about simplifying your journey, so we make it easier for you across all our channels to find parking locations close to your final destination. The location code is needed so that the enforcement agents check to see if your parking is validated.
What is a location code?
👉 The location code is a unique number associated with a parking space, meter, or off-street lot.
👉 The number can range from 4 to 9 digits and does not have any letters or special characters in it.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Be sure to search for the PayByPhone decal, as there will sometimes be more than one company operating at one location. Our logo looks like this:
How can I find it?
- Manually input the location code located on the parking meter
- Maps feature
- Nearby locations
- Recent parking locations
- Favourite locations
Manually input the location code located on the parking meter
👉 Manually input the number in the location field. The unique number will be found on-site on the sign or meter.
📋 NOTE: The number can range from 4 to 8 digits.

Maps feature
The Maps feature allows you to search and identify parking locations close to you, or your final destination, easily
To use our Maps Feature please watch the following video or follow the instructions below:
👉 Swipe on the Map tab at the bottom of the home screen.
- Navigate the map by swiping and pinching the screen OR search for a field at the top of the screen.📋 NOTE: As you zoom into a specific area on the map, these locations will disperse and the individual pins will become visible.
- PayByPhone parking locations are marked by a PayByPhone logo.
- 📋 NOTE: The further out your view on the map, the more the locations are clustered. A small number in the corner of the logo will let you know how many locations in that spot there are.
👉Tap on an individual pin, to view the options:

Tapping this will provide you with additional information about the parking location such as the Location Number, Parking Time Limits, and Accepted Payment Methods.
- Park – This will take you into the payment process and allow you to park at this location.

For Android users, it is possible to pin the location of your vehicle to the map once you have parked to make it simpler to find it again on your return.
👉 To PIN
- Tap on the car icon as shown below and then click Pin Vehicle
- To remove the pin once you have returned, click on the car icon again and then tap remove.
Nearby Locations
Nearby Location is a feature that enables our iOS and Android apps to recommend the nearest parking location to you.
👉 To use:
- Open the app and it will suggest the locations located within 200 m of where you are.
- Click Nearby Suggestion to start the process of creating a parking session. For more information on creating a parking session click here
📋 NOTE: It’s possible for you to be within 200m of more than one location code, in which case the app may recommend more than one option.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Please double-check the location before parking to avoid registering your parking session at the wrong location code. The onus is on the parker to select the correct location to avoid being vulnerable to a ticket.
Recent Parking Locations
To make it even simpler to re-park at a recent location, the PayByPhone app allows you to quickly recall any locations you have parked at recently.
👉 Choose your desired location from the Recent Parking location list.
- Click on the search field
- Select Recent
- The app will then show you your six recent parking locations
- Click on the location code that you would like to use.
Favourited Locations
To make it even simpler to re-park at a common location, such as your place of work or local town centre, the PayByPhone app allows you quickly to Favourite any locations you may have parked at recently.
👉 To create a favourite location
- Identify the location you would like to favourite either by entering the location number or via the recent or nearby location functions.
- Click on the star icon to the right of your location.
- This location has now been added to your favourites.
👉 To park at a favourite location
- On the home screen click on the search field.
- Select Favourite.
- The app shows you your favourite locations.
- By clicking on one of the locations, you will be able to start a parking session. For more information on how to start a parking session click here.
👉 To remove a favourite location
- On the home screen click on the search field.
- Select Favourite.
- The app shows you your favourite locations.
- Click on the star to the right of the location you would like to remove. This will now remove the location from your favourites.
