PayByPhone costs, parking rates and fees
There is no cost to download or access the PayByPhone app or mobile website or register for an account. However, some parking operators may apply a service fee when a parking payment is processed. Additional charges may be charged for SMS reminders or notifications.
Getting started
- Download the PayByPhone app for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Use the mobile website by visiting m.paybyphone.com.
- Call the automated phone line available for your parking location.
Parking rates and service fees
Parking rates and service fees are set by the parking operator and may vary by location.
The parking rate shown in PayByPhone should generally match the rate available at the parking meter or on nearby parking signs. Some locations may also add a small service fee, typically less than $0.50 USD or £0.35 GBP, as determined by the parking operator.
Holiday parking
Parking may be free or unavailable for payment on certain public holidays, depending on the parking operator’s rules.
When you enter a location code on a holiday, you may see a parking advisory or a message stating that parking is not currently available. This may mean that payment is not required at that location at that time.
Holiday parking rates, payment hours and restrictions are set by the parking operator and vary by location. Always review nearby parking signs and contact the parking operator directly if you are unsure whether payment is required.
