How to get a monthly permit in the MBTA
If you do not have a PayByPhone account, follow the first few steps to set that up. Account-holders, please skip to number 3.
Premium account holders will be using a different link provided by the MBTA. Please email parkingcs@mbta.com, or dial 617 222 5100 to speak to an agent.
- Visit MBTA Monthly Permit and click on the register link at the bottom of the page:
- Once the register link is selected, a new tab on your browser will open and you will be taken to the PayByPhone register homepage:
- Once registered, click back to the tab on your browser that is for the sign-in screen of the MBTA permit site and sign in.
- Once logged in, choose the MBTA lot that you will be parking at, so use the drop-down to find your lot.
- Select the location, input the number of months you want to park for and change the start date to the first date you would like to park on. (the system defaults to current date and is not prorated
- Choose the plate number associated with your permit. Be sure to engage the auto renewal should you want be charged automatically each month. The auto-renewal will be run 5 days before the end of the month. Note: it is important to ensure your account has an email address attached to it, we send a receipt or a failure notification when the renewal runs.
- Click Next.
- Review & confirm the details! If this looks good, click submit.
- The system will provide a receipt.
