The MBTA are introducing new parking rates and they will take effect September 1, 2018. The goal is to encourage customers to park at lots with greater capacity, giving customers more availability.
Both monthly parking and daily parking will be affected. Additional information including pricing can be found here:
https://www.mbta.com/projects/parking-prices-update.
Permit Holders:
Existing permit holders will be automatically charged the updated rate. Auto renewal posts 5 calendar days before month end. If you would like to change your default parking location, please email the PayByPhone team (mbtaepermit@paybyphone.com) we can remove you from the existing permit so that you can re-register at the new location through this link: https://www.paybyphone.com/locations/mbta.
How it works:
The new pricing scheme allows roaming within their tier as well as the those in the lower brackets.
Here are two examples:
i) Chestnut Hill has access to all of the $157.50 tier lots as well as all of the others in the $131.25 and below. ii) North Beverly is in the $70.00 range and customers can park within this tier as well as all the other locations in the $30.00 and $43.75 range.
For more information on rates, enforcement and lot operations, please contact the MBTA by emailing parkingcs@mbta.com or calling 617 222 5100.
For permit refunds or auto renewal management, please email mbtaepermit@paybyphone.com and include phone number and license plate. Please note that the PayByPhone team can only reimburse active permits. Due to the nature of this update, we ask that you allow 3-5 business days for response.
Special notice: The cost of parking at Wollaston has been reduced to $35.00, down from $87.50 whilst the North Quincy location is closed for construction. More information can be found here: here
