How do I enable the PayByPhone Widget foriOS Home Screen & Lock Screen?

For iOS 14 and above, the PayByPhone Widget allows you to track your parking expiration time. The widget offers you an easier and quicker way for you to track the parking time remaining on your Home or Lock Screen, without having to open the PayByPhone app to view your time remaining. The PayByPhone widget can be added to different places in your Apple device, including the Today View, Home Screen, or for iOS 16the Lock Screen.

When there is no active parking session happening, you can tap on the PayByPhone Widget to open the PayByPhone app as a shortcut. 

If there is an active parking session, the Widget will display the parking location, vehicle license plate, expiry date/time, and time remaining. When there are 10 minutes left before the session expires, the time will change from green to red to alert you on iOS 14 version. You can also always tap on the Widget to open the PayByPhone app and extend.

Setting Up Widgets

There are several ways to set up your PayByphoneWidget. You can also check Apple’s instructions on how to add, edit, and remove widgets to your Home Screen and Lock Screen here.

Home Screen

• Option 1: Press and hold any blank area.
• Option 2: Press and hold on any app icon. When the app's list of quick actions appear, select "Edit Home Screen".
• When the apps start to jiggle, tap the "+" button in the top right.  Find PayByPhone in list of Widgets, select the desired size and tap "Add Widget".

Today View

• Swipe right on the Home screen to access the left-most screen, the Today View.
• Option 1: Scroll to the bottom of Today View and tap "Edit".
• Option 2: Press and hold on any app widget.  When additional options appear, select "Edit Home Screen".
• When the app widgets start to jiggle, tap the "+" button in the top right.  Find PayByPhone in list of Widgets, select the desired size and tap "Add Widget".

Lock Screen (this option is only available for iOS 16)

1. Touch and hold the Lock Screen until the Customize button appears, then tap Customize.
2. Tap the box above or below the time to see the widgets that you can add to your Lock Screen.

       a. Widgets above the time:
Find PayByPhone in the list of Widgets, select the desired size and tap "Add Widget".

b. Widgets below the time:
Find PayByPhone in the list of Widgets, select the desired size and tap "Add Widget".

3.Tap or drag the widgets that you want to add.

4.Tap Done.

If there’s not enough room for a new widget, you can tap the Remove button to remove a widget and make room for the one you want to add.
