What are voucher codes and how do they work?
PayByPhone offers vouchers to provide discounts on MOTs, Services and MOT & Service bundles booked through the PayBYPhone app.
📋 NOTE: When using a voucher code, please keep the following in mind:
- Vouchers must be applied BEFORE requesting your booking
- Some vouchers only apply to specific products, cities etc.Vouchers can't be combined - only one voucher code can be applied to a booking and if it's for a specific amount, any unused amount does not roll over to another booking
- Vouchers may only apply for certain user types for example, first time PayByPhone users or people who have purchased car insurance through PayByPhone.
👉 How do I apply my voucher code?
- When purchasing an MOT, Service or MOT & Service bundle click ‘Add voucher code’ in the Promotions section of the booking summary.
- Type in Voucher Code
- Click 'Apply'
👉 How to use a voucher
- Check the voucher's validity dates
- Enter the code exactly as it appears (pay attention to capital letters and spacing)
- Only one voucher code can be used per transaction
👉 Was my voucher applied successfully?
Please note that voucher codes should be added BEFORE requesting a booking. We cannot apply a voucher retrospectively if you forgot to add it.
If the voucher is applied successfully, you should see it reflected in the Promotions section of the 'Booking summary' screen, just before hitting the "Request Booking" or "Book now" button.
If you're unsure whether your voucher was successfully applied post booking confirmation and payment, check the PayByPhone app:
1. Tap the menu at the top left of the Home screen.
2. Tap the menu at the top left of the Home screen.
3. Tap on the receipt which corresponds to the product and date the payment was taken.
4. Vouchers applied will show as a line item under the Subtotal.
Note: Vouchers can be used only once. Any leftover credit on a voucher does not apply to future bookings. Also, remember that each voucher has its own terms and conditions: make sure you're using it correctly and before the expiration date.
👉 How many times can a voucher be used?
The terms and conditions of each voucher will specify how the voucher can be used.
👉 Why is my voucher not working?
Please check the terms of the voucher. When you enter the voucher you may receive an error and you will see a red message appear explaining the problem. An explanation of the common errors are below:
- This voucher code has expired, this means it is no longer valid to be used
- This voucher code is not valid for the selected product(s), this means that the voucher can’t be applied to this type of booking
- The voucher code is invalid, this means that the voucher code isn’t recognised and may have been entered incorrectly
- This voucher code has already been redeemed, this means that the voucher has already been used and it was a one-time use voucher

👉 When will I receive my voucher after purchasing insurance?
Vouchers will be issued once the insurance provider has confirmed the sale. This could take up to 1 month after the date of purchase. If it has been more than 1 month since you purchased your insurance policy through PayByphone and you have not received your voucher, please contact customer support HERE
👉 Why have I not received my £20 voucher for purchasing insurance?
Vouchers are sent via email. If you do not have an email address associated with your PayByPhone account, you're a guest user, or the email address stored is incorrect you will not receive your voucher. Please contact customer support at HERE to get your unique voucher code.
