PayByPhone facilitates payment for parking and does not regulate the amount of time a user can park. PayByPhone adheres to parking restrictions as set out by the parking vendor (private, city, or otherwise).
📋 NOTE: Customer service agents cannot create a backdated/retroactive payment on your behalf.
iOS Users:
Parking with a Registered Account:
👉 Launch the app.
👉 From the home screen tap the Search box.
👉 You have the following options:
1. Input the PayByPhone location code. | 2. Choose from the Nearby, Recent or Favorites parking options. | 3. Swipe up to interact with the Maps Feature. |
👉 Choose the vehicle license plate you are using:
- Select an already registered vehicle or add a new plate.

👉 Enter the duration in minutes, hours, or days (time units vary by parking operator):
- Be sure to take note of any time restraints on the space, then click 'Continue'.
- If you are parking in Canada, you also have the option of using the Park Until feature.

👉 Add or select a payment method:
- First time adding a card? You'll be asked to enter your email address on the payment form to receive an email receipt with parking and payment confirmation.
- Choose your payment card. Multiple cards? Tap the downward arrow next to the credit card image to select a different card.
- Only card types that are accepted at the location will appear.
- At any time, you can tap the location, vehicle, or cost information to jump back to edit those selections directly.
- Tapping the back button will return you to the 'Choose Duration' page.
- If you wish to change their location number, tapping the location tab will return you to Choose Location stage.
- Tap the vehicle if you need to update it.
- Tap the duration box should you need to edit. Check all parking information and tap 'PAY & PARK' to confirm payment and begin your session. Please wait for the payment to finish and for the confirmation message to appear.
Parking with an Unregistered (Guest) Account:
As a Guest user, you may still park using PayByPhone but no official account will be created for you. You'll still enjoy the ease and convenience of using PayByPhone to pay for parking but limitations such as the availability of historical transactions/receipts, notifications, and account settings will not be made available to you until you register a full account.
Guest users will not be able to access:
👉 Vehicle Management:
- You can add a vehicle from the duration screen if the vehicle is required for that parking location.
- You can switch between different vehicles from the duration screen.
- You are unable to edit or remove vehicles from their account.
👉 Payment Options:
- Add a payment method or access your list of payment cards from the parking flow.
- Unable to edit, update or remove payment cards.
👉 Notification Settings:
- Guest Users will not be able to change their notification preferences for SMS reminders, receipts (UK), and Email receipts.
👉 Change Password:
- Only registered or signed-in users are allowed to change their password.

👉 Log in or use a Guest Account.
👉 Click the Park button.
👉 Input the location code and choose your vehicle. Click continue.

👉 Review transaction details and click 'PAY AND PARKING', if everything looks correct.

👉 Wait for your parking to be confirmedOnce you have heard confirmation that your parking has started you may leave your vehicle. Parking details will be sent to the handheld units the Parking Enforcement Officers patrol with.

👉 Extend your parking anytimeExtend your parking at any time. Simply call the number you dialed in. Your account will be recognized, and you will be given the option to extend your parking session or start a new one.

Note: To pay for parking via SMS it is necessary for you to already have a PayByPhone account. For information on how to create a PayByPhone account.
👉 Simply send a text message to 65565 with :
- your PayByPhone Location Code
- the duration you would like to park for, and the 3-digit security code (CVV) on the back of your payment card to park the last used vehicle on your account
👉 To park a different vehicle already on your account, add the required number plate after the CVV2 :
- Example: 12345 1h 111 TEST123
- Duration format for SMS messages:
1m = 1 minute
1h = 1 hour
1d = 24 hours
👉 Wait for your parking session to be confirmed.
👉 You will receive a text back confirming your parking has started, please do not leave your vehicle until you have received this confirmation message.
PayPoint
PayPoint offers in-store payment services and through a long-standing partnership, you can pay for your parking at certain PayByPhone locations at one of PayPoint’s 28,000 stores across the UK.
👉 To find your nearest PayPoint store, you can:
- View a map of all PayPoint stores by clicking here.
- Send the word CASH via SMS to 60075 along with the PayByPhone location of where you are parked. We will reply with details of your two nearest PayPoint stores.
- Look out for stores bearing the following signage:
👉 To pay for parking at a PayPoint store, you need the following information:
- PayByPhone Location Code.
- Vehicle registration number.
Simply ask at the counter of a PayPoint store to pay for your PayByPhone parking. They will ask for the above information and then process your transaction on your behalf.
The store will then take your cash payment and provide you with a receipt.
Extending your Parking with Cash at a PayPoint Store
To extend your parking session please return to any PayPoint store and repeat the above process. Some restrictions apply, for example, you cannot exceed maximum time limits.
